Give in Your Future

Leave a legacy, join the Shakespeare Society

Charles Erickson. The Shakespeare Society, Hartford Stage’s planned-giving program, welcomes those who have made a commitment to the future of the theatre by including specific provisions in their estate plans to support its operations or programs, often to memorialize a loved one. Gifts may be directed to Hartford Stage’s permanently restricted endowment or the reserved Board-Designated Fund, from which the Board may direct the use of your gift to a specific activity or purpose.

There are many tax-advantaged vehicles available to you as you consider estate planning or an outright gift to benefit the future of Hartford Stage. These include bequests (general, specific, residual or contingent), a testamentary trust, or the naming of Hartford Stage as the beneficiary of your retirement plan or life insurance policy. These options allow you to maximize the personal benefits of your charitable giving, and may enable you to support the theatre at levels you thought impossible by taking full advantage of available tax benefits. Hartford Stage encourages you to speak with your tax advisor and attorney about planned giving options and any reduction of income, capital gains, or transfer (inheritance) taxes that you may stand to realize.

When you have made a planned giving decision, we hope you will let us know and enable us to express our gratitude. With your permission, we will list your name among the growing number of Shakespeare Society members.
